Daniel McConnell, Editor

Daniel McConnell has been Editor of the Business Post since April 2023 and has overall responsibility for the leadership of the editorial team across digital, multimedia and print. Previously he served as Political Editor at the Irish Examiner and Group Political Correspondent at Independent News and Media (Mediahuis Ireland). He also worked with the Irish Times and the Sunday Times. Daniel was named Ireland’s journalist of the year and political journalist of the year in 2022. He is a best-selling author and is a leading contributor to and presenter on national radio and TV.

Aaron Rogan, Deputy Editor

Aaron Rogan is Deputy Editor of the Business Post. An award-winning journalist who has specialised in business coverage throughout his career, he is also the author of Punters: How Paddy Power Bet Billions and Changed Gambling Forever. He writes the weekly Post Script column.

Gillian Nelis, Managing Editor

Gillian Nelis is Managing Editor of the Business Post. A graduate of TU Dubin, she has more than 25 years’ experience in journalism and has held a variety of roles within the Business Post, including property editor and deputy editor. She has a particular interest in the hospitality sector, and is the editor of Food&Wine Ireland as well as the host of the Plate food podcast.

Peter O’Dwyer, Head of News

Peter O’Dwyer is Head of News at the Business Post, responsible for guiding the newsroom’s journalism across all key sectors and issues. A multi-award-winning journalist, Peter’s reporting has been consistently recognised by a wide range of organisations. Peter first joined the Business Post in 2019. He has been in his current role since August 2023 and has previously worked at the Irish Examiner, The Times of London and Bloomberg.

Elaine Prendeville, Editorial Director of Magazines

Elaine Prendeville is Editorial Director of Magazines at the Business Post. A former editor of the Business Post magazine and Irish Tatler magazine, Elaine joined the company in 2016. Her role involves coordinating the Business Post’s suite of magazines, including Arts & Living, Irish Tatler, Connected and Food&Wine. She holds a diploma from the Law Society of Ireland and, since 2016, has been a board member at Quality Matters, an organisation that supports improvements in social services in Ireland.

Bryan Walshe, Pictures Editor

Bryan Walsh is Pictures Editor at the Business Post. With more than three decades of experience, Bryan’s role involves coordinating, curating and overseeing the Business Post’s visual media across digital and print. Bryan works with a team of photographers to create visually powerful journalism across various platforms. He is a Kilkenny native and a graduate of Senior College Ballyfermot, with a degree in broadcasting and journalism.

Eoin O’Hara, Operations Editor

Eoin O’Hara is Operations Editor at the Business Post. In this role, he is responsible for the day-to-day running of the production and sub-editing of the newspaper, magazines and website. He joined the company in January 2014. Eoin previously worked for the Irish Daily Star. He is a graduate of Rathmines College, holding a higher national diploma in journalism.

Garrett Allen, Head of Production & Design

Garrett Allen is head of production and design at the Business Post. He leads a team that produces all Business Post titles in print and online. His role involves managing the group’s design team and curating the brand Identity of the Business Post. Garrett joined the company in June 2023. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, he previously worked for the Agricultural Trust and the Irish Examiner.

Kathleen Gallagher is Markets Correspondent at the Business Post, covering market trends and economics, as well as investor preferences and their impact on businesses. An award-winning journalist, she has spent more than 10 years covering and working in the financial services sector and joined the company in February 2024. Kathleen was recognised as trade journalist of the year by the Association of Investment Companies in 2021.

Charlie Taylor, Technology & Innovation Editor

Charlie Taylor is Technology and Innovation editor at the Business Post, where his duties also include editing Connected, a tech-focused monthly magazine. Charlie covers a range of companies and trends in Irish technology, ranging from start-ups to Big Tech companies. Before joining the Business Post, he spent 15 years working for the Irish Times in a number of roles across the newspaper.

Daniel Murray, Policy Editor

Daniel Murray is Policy Editor at the Business Post. His writing focuses on issues of government, policy development and implementation, and the intersection of business and politics. He also presents the Business Post’s energy and environment podcast Five Degrees of Change, and writes a weekly ESG newsletter. Daniel has more than a decade of experience in media and communications. He was awarded investigative journalist of the year 2022 by Newsbrands, Sunday journalist of the year 2023 by the Law Society of Ireland, and political journalist of the year 2023 by Newsbrands.

Tina-Marie O’Neill, Property Editor

Tina-Marie O’Neill is Property Editor at the Business Post, a post she has held since 2014. She produces a print and digital supplement featuring residential, commercial and interior design features and analysis. She also writes a weekly digital property newsletter and leads a panel of judges for the annual National Property Awards. Tina-Marie joined the company in 2002 and has held a variety of positions, including general reporter, world news reporter, markets columnist and food columnist.

Donal MacNamee, Banking & Fintech Correspondent

Donal MacNamee is Banking and Fintech Correspondent at the Business Post. Donal covers the major retail banks in Ireland, as well as emerging fintech companies. Prior to that he was a senior business reporter and a digital reporter. He has been with the company since March 2021. Donal previously worked for the Irish Mirror. He is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin.

Catherine Sanz, Legal Affairs Correspondent

Catherine Sanz is the Legal Affairs Correspondent of the Business Post. She leads the Business Post’s legal coverage and provides readers with in-depth analysis of how the law impacts Ireland’s most significant business sectors. She is also host of Law on Trial, the Business Post’s legal affairs podcast. Catherine joined the company in August 2021 and has nearly a decade of experience in journalism in Ireland and the US. She has won Newsbrands, numerous Law Society Justice Media Awards, and her work has been nominated for an Emmy.

Sarah Collins, Brussels Correspondent

Sarah Collins is Brussels Correspondent at the Business Post, covering EU policy and politics. She joined the company in May 2024 after several years on the Irish Independent’s business desk and more than a decade as a freelance reporter in Brussels. She has written for various other newspapers, including the Irish Times, London Evening Standard, The Times (of London) and the Irish Examiner, and had a brief stint as a spokesperson at the European Commission.

Dominic McGrath, London Correspondent

Dominic McGrath is UK Correspondent at the Business Post. Based in London, he covers the City, British politics and the Irish business community in the UK. Dominic joined the company in February 2024 from PA Media where he was a Political Correspondent in Westminster. Before that, he was based in Dublin for the UK news agency. He has also previously worked for the BBC NI and TheJournal.ie.

Cónal Thomas, Political Correspondent

Cónal Thomas is Political Correspondent at the Business Post. He leads the publication’s political coverage across online and in print. His coverage involves reporting on key events around Leinster House, exclusive Red C/Business Post polls, and political developments in Ireland. Cónal joined the company in November 2021. With 10 years of experience in the industry, he previously worked for TheJournal.ie and Dublin Inquirer.

Sarah Murphy, Chief Executive

Sarah Murphy is Chief Executive at the Business Post. Sarah joined the Executive Leadership Team of the Business Post Group in January 2019 and became CEO of the Business Post in August 2022. She oversees the company’s strategy, financial performance and operational requirements, while leading a business transformation programme that is reimagining the legacy news brand into Ireland’s foremost business media group. Sarah also serves as a Director of the Global Economic Summit CLG, an international leadership forum fostering dialogue on global challenges.

A graduate of Trinity College Dublin and London Metropolitan University, Sarah is a passionate advocate for women’s equality in the business arena, as well as for creating and fostering a work environment of social equality.

David Cochrane, Director of Audience Growth

David Cochrane is the Director of Audience Growth at the Business Post, where he leads audience measurement, insights, and strategy. A member of the management team since 2022, David drives data-driven digital transformation across the entire publication, working across the business to deliver innovative strategies that serve readers and drive audience growth and engagement. Since joining the Business Post in 2022, David has leveraged his nearly 20 years of industry experience, including senior roles at the Irish Times Group as well as his own digital media business.

Emma Horgan, Head of Subscriptions & Circulation

Emma Horgan serves as the Head of Subscriptions & Circulation at the Business Post. In this role, Emma is responsible for driving the growth of the publication’s subscriber base, optimising customer retention strategies, and overseeing the end-to-end management of circulation operations. Emma joined the company in March 2016. Prior to joining Business Post, Emma held key positions at the Irish Times.

Megan Cassidy, Director of Strategic Initiatives and Leadership Engagement

Megan Cassidy is Director of Strategic Initiatives and Leadership Engagement at the Business Post. Megan is also Managing Director of the Global Economic Summit, an independent CLG which serves as the philanthropic foundation for the Business Post. Global Economic Summit is an international leaders’ retreat, which saw the largest convening of global leaders in Ireland in 2024. Megan’s role encompasses leadership engagement and community-building among our audience of senior decision-makers and doers.

Known for his strategic approach and commitment to client success, Dara continues to drive growth and innovation in the company’s sales efforts.

Chris Flood, Head of Agency and Partnerships

Chris Flood is the Head of Agency and Partnerships at Business Post. He oversees the company’s engagement with advertising agencies and works across the bigger partnerships. With experience from across the Irish media landscape – including Jameson, the Star, the Journal and Media Central, where he worked on partnerships with Today FM – Chris has broad experience working with some of the country’s biggest brands. He is focused on delivering best-in-class activations for our agency partners.

Niamh Ryan, Head of Partnerships, Irish Tatler and Food&Wine
Niamh Ryan is Head of Partnerships across Irish Tatler and Food&Wine, the lifestyle brands of the Business Post. She specialises in the lifestyle sector, bringing a wealth of expertise in creating impactful brand alliances and campaigns. With more than 23 years’ experience in sales and account management, Niamh excels at collaborating with diverse clients to bring strategic campaigns to life across print, digital and events. Known for her energetic approach and passion for creativity, she thrives on building meaningful relationships that align brand values with audience needs.

Gillian Egan, Group Finance Director

Gillian Egan is Group Finance Director of the Business Post Group. Gillian leads the finance team, which is responsible for overseeing all financial functions for the group . As part of the executive team she is involved in planning and implementing the strategic plans across all companies within the group. Gillian originally joined the group in 2017 as Financial Controller before being appointed Group Finance Director in 2020.

Craig Tait, Group Technical & Data Director

Craig Tait is Group Technical and Data Director at the Business Post Group. Craig joined the Business Post in 2015 as Head of Technology before being appointed to his current role in 2020. His role within the group is to control, manage and develop its technical and data infrastructures. Craig has more than 20 years of experience working in technology, data management, product development and systems administration.

Lorcán Hanlon, Group Chief Commercial & Revenue Officer

Lorcán Hanlon is Group Chief Commercial and Revenue Officer at the Business Post Group. Having worked with the Business Post since 2013, Lorcán transitioned to his current group executive role in September 2022. Lorcán is responsible for commercial strategy, development, and integration across the group, with a specific focus on active commercial and revenue units as well as client-facing elements of the business.
